Blossom Box

Thank s to Marlene Pomeroy and Peter Baumgartner, our Alternative Book Group learned how to make a Blossom Box at our last meeting.  We saw the You Tube video that Peter made (narrated in German) and decided that we would like to make one.  Marlene undertook the role of facilitator and guided us through the process.

We came with our pieces of board and paper precut (which made the assembly process much less time consuming).

The measurements were in millimetres.

The most difficult part of the process was getting the lining paper into the bottom of the box.  When you work with PVA glue, which we were presuming he was from the video, it is very unforgiving.  Upon reflection, we decided we would have worked with a PVA/Methyl Cellulose mix, which would have given us a greater drying time and more flexibility and movement for arranging the paper in the bottom.  It definitely would have been easier to get it into place.  I suppose if you have done many of them, you can get it right the first time.  Peter certainly made it look easy.

Here is my effort.
