I keep browsing and I have a couple of new inspiration artists that I can’t wait to introduce you to next class. One is a knot artist for those of you who asked about knots, but the other is someone who is pushing the boundaries of textile art in the area of rope art and wrapping.
In the
meantime, here are just a few things that have come my way that I thought might
interest you in between classes. Some
projects and video tutorials that I’ve discovered in my research and the
inspiration video that I adapted to create my Tree of Life wrapping.

I used this
video as my starter inspiration but I didn’t use the half hitch spirals, I
began wrapping from the beginning and decided I wanted wrapped roots as well
and divided my cords into groups at the bottom and made roots that I then tied
on to my hoop. I wrapped my metal hoop
before beginning so that my cords had something to grip. I used fuzzy green yarn
that I knotted to the top (lark’s head knot) to make my willow effect greenery.
